The official selection for the 2017 NYC Web Fest (NYCWF) has been announced. This will be the fourth year of this festival, which will be moving to a much bigger location. Just three months ago, the Jury was announced as well as the dates of the festival.
A total of 90 digital series from around the world have been selected for the NYCWF. It will take place on November 9th – 11th at the Peoples Improv Theatre in Manhattan.
This year they received the most entries in their four-year span. The rise in entries was due to the festival accepting pilot episodes this year. “As NYCWF continues to grow, we receive more international attention,” says Founder Lauren Atkins. “Over a third of our submissions in 2017 were from outside of the United States, our selections this year are a mix of new shows by novice filmmakers & veteran talent you’ve seen on stage and screen.”
This is the first time the NYCWF has changed location. The last three years, it has taken place at the Pit Loft; yet, this year it will move to its flagship location, The PIT, which boasts a large bar area for networking and is double in size.
The weekend will include screenings & panels with an awards ceremony closing the event on the final night. Hence why the jury was announced earlier in the year.
